Industrial Filtration

iCerMaxTM Ceramic filters for Industry

Multi-functional applications in virtually any environment: air, gas, liquids, acids, etc.

iCerMaxTM Ceramic filters are manufactured from Wonderstone ceramic which exhibits some unique properties compared to current ceramics in the market place.

  • Surety of sustainable cleanliness levels through depth filtration.
  • Absolute reliability in monitoring the filtration medium’s integrity.
  • Thermal and structural strength, chemical resistance in air, gas and liquid filtration.
  • Multiple cleaning methods providing extended lifecycles.
  • Process application efficiencies allowing for functional optimisation of plant design.

The Ceramic filters illustrated above have been tested for liquids at the renowned independent French filter test facility, IFTS
The filters are manufactured at the Wonderstone plant to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.

Flexibility
Ceramic media porosity can be customised during manufacturing to suit the required flow rates, micron rating and differential pressure requirements for each application.

  • Mixed gas filtration – acidic or alkali applications
  • Filtration systems in advanced combustion and gasification
  • Protect gas turbines from particle fouling and erosion
  • Advanced coal or biomass-based power applications
  • Cleaning process gas to meet emission requirements
  • Heat Exchangers – cooling/heating
  • Food filtration applications
  • Mineral processing

Characteristics

  • Maximum temperature: 1,200° Celsius
  • Thermal Shock: Excellent, even with surface disparity& instantaneous thermal shock. Porosity & functionality remains unchanged
  • Thermal coefficient of expansion: 3.6×10-6 m/m K @25 – 600 °C
  • Binding Strength: Excellent
  • Wear Resistance: Excellent
  • Bursting pressure, flow inside to outside: Excellent
  • Resistance to acid, fires and sparks: Excellent
  • No residual alumina, silica binders or bonding agents, only 100% ceramic composition remains after firing
  • 100% iCerMaxTM Wonderstone in composition, no combinations of material

Heat shock test – Heat iCerMaxTM to 1000°C in an oven and then drop it straight into cold water (12° Celcius).
During this test the iCerMaxTM ceramic experiences no negative effect, with its porosity and medium remaining totally in tact.

The industrial application for the iCerMaxTM ceramic is astounding.
iCerMaxTM is made from a wear lining ceramic composition with a multitude of inherent product characteristics. We are able to utilise this ceramic even were other ceramics failed, due to its excellent even porosity, heat shock endurance and physical structural strength compatibilities.

Multi-functional applications in virtually any medium: air, gas, liquids, acids and industrial applications.

  • Filtration, separation & purification – Surface, depth, cake, dead end & cross flow
  • Aeration, sparging, wicking, evaporation, dispersion & diffusion
  • Coalescing, condensing, & absorbent drier
  • Deferential pressures and temperature flow control
  • Cooling, insulating, processing and cleaning

A critical component is long-term performance, durability and life of the porous filter element

The advantages of using iCerMaxTM Ceramic Filters to main line ceramic filters

  • Wonderstone (Multi-functional wear resistant ceramic filtration medium) – ideal for air, gas & liquids or any combination of these, as well as industrial applications.
  • Structural integrity, iCerMaxTM eliminates filtration medium breakdowns or compromise caused by multiple surges, hammering effects, varying operating pressures (high or low), severe pressure, extreme heat – up to 1,200 °C, chemical resistant.
Enhanced flange strengths and surface abrasion integrity.
Chemical stability of oxide based materials.
Migrate potential reactions with gas phase alkali processing.
    Oxidation resistant
    Multiple effective cleaning methods
100% iCerMaxTM Pyrophyllite in composition ,with no combinations of material. A combination of material leads to a disparity of internal stresses and to internal temperature disparities in the material itself.
  • Thermal shock-resistant to severe instantaneous temperature changes. The porosity and functionality of the iCerMaxTM ceramics remain unchanged and intact. iCerMaxTM intricately possesses characteristics to handle instantaneous thermal shocks and combat thermal fatigue failure. Thermal coefficient of expansion 3.6×10-6 @25 – 600°C
100% iCerMaxTM Pyrophyllite in composition, no combinations of material, which leads to internal thermal disparities
  • Multiple cleaning methods for iCerMaxTM ensuring an additional economic lifecycle. Reliable long service life in the harshest service conditions of multiple surges, pressures, instantaneous thermal shocks, chemical attacks, etc.
  • Process application efficiencies: the inherent characteristics of iCerMaxTM allows for a functional optimisation design of processes, which requires a superior multi- functional filtration solution.
  • With higher pressures / flow rates and their singular composition integrity iCerMaxTM ceramics set new standards in filtration with sustainable cleanliness levels and are totally in a league of their own.
  • iCerMaxTM excels in all of the main Filtration criteria – Reliable Performance, High Integrity, Resistance to flow or differential pressures, Collapse Strength, Structural integrity, Capacity / Efficiency, Longer Life Span, Lower Costs and Chemical Capability.
  • The iCerMaxTM product range includes: pre -filters and final filters with customisation of the porosity (efficiency), flow rates, micron rating, differential pressures and sizes to accommodate the functionality and diversity of the multiple applications in air, gas & liquids.

iCerMaxTM ceramics excel in long term thermal, chemical and mechanical stability of the components during high temperature combustion operations or during gasification applications. The iCerMaxTM ceramics provide overall structural integrity and extended operational lifecycles.
